Terms

UPDATED 9 OCT 2026

Pinhead is made by Steven Hylands in Northern Ireland. By using it you agree to these terms. They're short on purpose; questions to hello@pinhead.app.

Pinhead is in testing

It's free while it's being tested, and it will change as it goes. Things may break or be removed, and the service may pause. Keep your own record of anything you can't afford to lose.

Your account

You need to be 13 or over. Keep your email secure, since it's how you sign in. You can delete your account at any time from You.

What you add is yours

Your maps, notes and photos stay yours. You let Pinhead store them and show them to the people you choose to share them with. When you publish a map as a list, you let anyone see its places and take a copy for themselves to tick off on their own map; that copy is then theirs, and stays theirs if you later unpublish or delete yours.

Only add what you have the right to share: your own photos, and lists you made or may publish. If a list comes from somewhere else, credit the source as its licence asks.

Be decent

Don't use Pinhead to harass anyone, to post anything illegal or hateful, or to break or overload it. Lists and profiles can be reported, and anything that breaks these rules can be unpublished or removed, and the account closed.

Out in the world

Pinhead helps you plan; it isn't a safety tool. Places, heights, distances and routes come from other people and open data, and may be wrong or out of date. Hills, coasts and weather are your responsibility: check access, conditions and the route yourself before you go.

The small print

Pinhead is provided as it is, without promises that it will always work or be right. As far as the law allows, Steven isn't liable for losses from using it; nothing here limits your rights as a consumer. These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland. If they change, this page changes, with a new date at the top.
